Anti-Semitic hostility and threats have been on the rise for years, including some acts of violence and terrorist attacks by people with Islamist motives. On 5 September 2024, an attack was carried out on the Israeli Consulate General and the Nazi Documentation Centre in Munich. The perpetrator, an 18-year-old Austrian who had been radicalised by Islam, was fatally shot by the police.
