Hunting the hunter

Kurt Lischka (1909-1989), former head of the Gestapo in Paris, tried to evade being photographed. The Holocaust survivors Serge Klarsfeld and Harry Dreifuss pursued him through the streets of Cologne in 1971. Lischka stood trial there in 1979, along with Herbert Hagen (1913-1999) and Ernst Heinrichsohn (1920-1994), the main perpetrators responsible for the murder of French Jews. Lischka ended up only serving five of his ten-year sentence.
