In Nuremberg, a class of 7th graders responded to the following questions in autumn 1946:
Why did the war start? (No. 1)
Why did Germany lose the war? (No. 2)
What did the National Socialists do wrong? (No. 4)
The answers show that Nazi propaganda and its racist ideology were still deeply rooted in people’s minds. One student believed that Poland was to blame for the outbreak of World War II.
