‘Victory in Poland’

A twelve-year-old boy discovered a book on his grandparents’ shelf: Victory in Poland, a work of Nazi war propaganda published in 1939. The youngster’s grandfather had torn out all the pages containing photos of Hitler and swastikas. Yet, why did his grandfather keep the book? Did he have a personal attachment to it? The boy learned why: his beloved grandfather had served as a police radio operator during the German occupation of Poland.
